About Me...

I'm Ms Johnson, a secondary school teacher with over thirteen years of experience in UK classrooms, teaching English Language, English Literature, Sociology and Psychology across Key Stages 3 and 4. Over the years, I've learned that good teaching isn't about doing more. It's about doing what matters, clearly and calmly.

In school, I've taken on a range of leadership roles, including:

  • Reading Lead

  • Head of Department for Psychology

  • Head of Department for Sociology

  • Raising Standards in English

  • Attainment and Progress Coordinator in English

These roles shaped how I design resources: practical, purposeful and genuinely helpful for both students and the people supporting them.

Alongside classroom teaching, I work one to one with students as a tutor, including many who are home educated and preparing for their GCSEs as private candidates. I create personalised support that meets each young person where they are. I hold an enhanced DBS and keep my practice current through regular CPD training and annual teacher conferences.

My work has also taken me beyond the UK. Through CamFed (Campaign for Female Education), I have contributed to curriculum design for schools in several regions of Africa. This experience strengthened my belief that education is powerful in many forms and that every learner deserves resources that are clear, thoughtful and built around real understanding.

I started Ms Johnson Says to bring my classroom experience to more students, parents and teachers.

My aim is simple: to make GCSE learning manageable, meaningful and a lot less overwhelming, wherever it happens.
